Install our iOS shortcut: the best way to bypass paywalls on an iPhone

Follow these instructions to add one-click paywall removal to iPhone share actions

RemovePaywalls.Com has released an iPhone shortcut that makes it very fast to use the site to bypass paywalls. Instructions to install are below, takes no time at all, and once you install, it will add an option to the “share actions” (this icon ), that will take you straight through the paywall. Instructions below for Chrome and Safari, but it should work for any browser!

Instructions to install

  1. Visit the shortcut link on icloud.com here: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/55a79760bd134b839c4ce52de543c717
  2. Click “Get Shortcut” on that page
  3. Click “Add shortcut” on the iOS popup that appears
  4. Done!

Then, whenever you are on an article behind a paywall, click the share actions button (), scroll down to the bottom of the actions, where you should see the RemovePaywalls.Com action. Click it, and the full article should load.

If the full article doesn’t load, or the formatting looks poor, RemovePaywall.Com has a header which allows you to try five different options for alternative ways to bypass the paywall, ordered based on likelihood of success – so you should then try those

An iOS window for the native shortcuts app should popup. Click the button “Add shortcut”.

Installation is now complete. When you are on an article behind a paywall, click the share actions button (). Here is where you find it on chrome

And here is where you find it on Safari

Once you click the share actions button (), scroll to the bottom of the actions available until you find the one called RemovePaywalls.Com. Click on that, and you should be taken to the full article.

We think one of the best features of RemovePaywalls.Com is that it provides easy access to various alternatives path to the full article, such as using different archive sites, or trying various methods for blocking javascript. So, if the article doesn’t load, or the formatting makes it look hard to read (eg the text is wider than the screen), use the header at the top to select one of the different Path options. We recommend starting with Path 1: they are ordered based on likelihood to work.
